In doing so, LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. is committed to safeguarding your privacy and the security of your Personal Information.

However, you may choose to do so as part of creating and account or using the Services, including to make contact with other Users or to make contact with us in respect of any questions you may have about this privacy notice (“Notice”).

    2. This notice describes how LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. and its affiliates collect and use Personal Information. This Notice applies to all users of our Apps, websites, features, or other services anywhere in the world. This notice specifically applies to:
      1. customers – Individuals using our Apps, websites, features, or other services for purposes of gathering travel information, searching for and accessing Travel Recommendations, Travel Guides, Accommodation Recommendations, Tour Recommendations and Event Recommendations from Contributors and posting reviews; and
      2. suppliers– third parties, including Contributors, and travel, tourism and hospitality businesses using our Apps, websites, features, or other services to engage with customers and potential customers, by way of free and/or paid-for services offered by us or the Contributors,

and all those subject to this Notice are referred to as “You” or “Users” in this Notice.

  2. If there are any changes to LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s data processing practices or to this Notice, the updated Notice will be made available on our website and will be applicable to Your use of the Apps from the date of publication.
  3. By agreeing to this Notice, You agree to LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. Processing your Personal Information for the purposes set out in this Notice, including providing you with access to the Services, in accordance with the terms of this Notice and applicable laws, including POPIA.
  • Definitions
    1. Apps” means the web based application of LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. and , as LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. may choose to use from time to time and the LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. Travel mobile application; and
    2. Contributors” means independent third party providers who create Travel Recommendations, Travel Guides, Accommodation Recommendations, Tour Recommendations and Event Recommendations which are provided, marketed and sold via the Apps;

LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.” means LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. (Pty) Ltd, with registration No: 2015/169050/07, being a company incorporated and carrying on business in accordance with the company laws of South Africa;

  1. Personal Information” means ‘personal information’ as that term is defined in POPIA, being: 

information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person, and where it is applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person, including, but not limited to:

(a) information relating to the race, gender, sex, pregnancy, marital status, national, ethnic or social origin, colour, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental health, well-being, disability, religion, conscience, belief, culture, language and birth of the person; 

(b) information relating to the education or the medical, financial, criminal or employment history of the person; 

(c) any identifying number, symbol, e-mail address, physical address, telephone number, location information, online identifier or other particular assignment to the person; 

(d) the biometric information of the person; 

(e) the personal opinions, views or preferences of the person; 

(f) correspondence sent by the person that is implicitly or explicitly of a private or confidential nature or further correspondence that would reveal the contents of the original correspondence; 

(g) the views or opinions of another individual about the person; and 

(h) the name of the person if it appears with other personal information relating to the person or if the disclosure of the name itself would reveal information about the person;

  1. Platform” means the digital platform operated by LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. on the Apps;
  2.  “POPIA” means the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 or 2013, as amended;
  3. Processing” means ‘processing’ as that term is defined in POPIA, being:

any operation or activity or any set of operations, whether or not by automatic means, concerning personal information, including—

(a) the collection, receipt, recording, organisation, collation, storage, updating or modification, retrieval, alteration, consultation or use;

(b) dissemination by means of transmission, distribution or making available in any other form; or

(c) merging, linking, as well as restriction, degradation, erasure or destruction of information;

  1. we”, “us”, “our” and “LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.” means LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd, with registration No: 2020/652264/07, being a company incorporated and carrying on business in accordance with the company laws of South Africa;
  2. You” or “User” means all users of our Apps, websites, features, or other services anywhere in the world, unless covered by a separate privacy notice, namely:
    1. customers – Individuals using our Apps, websites, features, or other services for purposes of gathering travel information, searching for and purchasing Travel Recommendations, Travel Guides, Accommodation Recommendations, Tour Recommendations and Event Recommendations from Contributors and posting reviews; and
    2. suppliers– third parties, including Contributors, and travel, tourism and hospitality businesses using our Apps, websites, features, or other services to engage with customers and potential customers, by way of free and/or paid-for services offered by us or the Contributors.
  • Collection of Personal Information
      1. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. collects Personal information:
        1. provided by users to LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd., such as during account creation;
        2. created during use of our services, such as location, app usage and device data; and
        3. from other sources, such as other users or account owners, business partners and governmental authorities.
  • Personal Information collected 

The following Personal Information is collected by or on behalf of LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.:

    1. Data provided by users. This includes:
  • User profile: We collect data, including Personal Information, when users create or update their LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. accounts. This may include their name, email, phone number, login name and password, address, profile picture, payment or banking information (including related payment verification information), driver’s license and other government identification documents (which may indicate document numbers as well as birth date, gender, and photo), emergency contact information, user settings.

This also includes race, gender, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, physical health, disability, language and occupation when completing LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s personality tests, which enable us to suggest suitable Services.

  1. Demographic data: We may collect demographic data about users, including through user surveys.
  2. User content: We collect the data, including Personal Information,  submitted by users when they contact LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. customer support, provide ratings, reviews or compliments for other users, restaurants or merchants, or otherwise contact LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.. This may include feedback, photographs or other recordings collected by users, including audio or video recordings submitted by users in connection with customer support. This also includes metadata relating to the method you use to communicate with LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd..
  3. Transaction information: We collect transaction information, including Personal Information, related to the use of our services, including the type of services requested or provided, order details, payment transaction information (such as a Contributor, restaurant’s or merchant’s name and location and amount of transaction), date and time the service was provided, amount charged and payment method. Additionally, if someone uses your promotion code, we may associate your name with that person.
  4. Usage data: We collect data, including Personal Information, about how users interact with our services. This includes data such as access dates and times, Application features or pages viewed, Application crashes and other system activity, and type of browser. We may also collect data regarding the third-party sites or services used before interacting with our services, which we use for marketing.

In some cases, we collect this data through cookies, pixels, tags, and similar tracking technologies that create and maintain unique identifiers. To learn more about these technologies, please see our Cookie Notice [LINK]. 

  1. Device data: We may collect data about the devices used to access our services, including the hardware models, device IP address or other unique device identifiers, operating systems and versions, software, preferred languages, advertising identifiers, device motion data, and mobile network data.
  2. Communications data: We enable users to communicate with each other and LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. through LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s mobile Apps and websites. For example, we enable users and Contributors to call, text, or send other files to each other (generally without disclosing their telephone numbers to each other). To provide this service, LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. receives some data regarding the calls, texts, or other communications, including the date and time of the communications and the content of the communications. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. may also use this data for customer support services (including to resolve disputes between users), for safety and security purposes, to improve our services and features, and for analytics.
  1. Data from other sources. These include:
    1. Users participating in our referral programs. For example, when a user refers to another person, we receive the referred person’s Personal Information from that user.
    2. users or others providing information in connection with claims or disputes.
    3. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. business partners through which users create or access their LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. account, such as payment providers, social media services, or Apps or websites that use LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s APIs or whose APIs LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. uses. 
    4. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. business partners in connection with debit or credit cards issued by a financial institution in partnership with LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. to the extent disclosed in the terms and conditions for the card.
    5. vendors who help us verify users’ identity or who screen users in connection with sanctions, anti-money laundering, or know-your-customer requirements.
    6. publicly available sources.
    7. marketing service providers or data resellers whose data LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. uses for marketing or research.
    8. law enforcement officials, public health officials, and other government authorities.
  2. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. may combine the data collected from the sources specified in clauses 5.1 and 5.2 with other data in its possession.
  3. We will limit the Personal Information we Process to only that to which you consent and which is necessary for our legitimate business interests.
  • Accuracy of collected Personal Information 
      1. Whilst LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. will make all effort to ensure the integrity and accuracy of Your Personal Information, this may not at all times be possible. Following this, You accept the responsibility for the accuracy of the Personal Information You provide to LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. and for keeping Your Personal Information up to date, and You undertake to inform LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. of any changes to Your Personal Information.
      2. You have the right to request that LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. corrects any inaccuracies in or to any such Personal Information. Please contact us using the information provided in the “Enquiries” section of this Notice to the correction of inaccuracies in or to any such Personal Information
  • Purpose for which Your Personal Information is collected
    1. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. uses Personal Information to enable reliable and personalised Travel Recommendations, Travel Guides, Accommodation Recommendations, Tour Recommendations and Event Recommendations and other products and services. We also use such Personal Information:
      1. to enhance the safety and security of our users and services;
      2. for customer support ;
      3. for research and development;
      4. to enable communications between users;
      5. to send marketing and non-marketing communications to users; and
      6. in connection with legal proceedings.

LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. does not sell or share user Personal Information with third parties for their direct marketing, except with users’ consent.

  1. We use Personal Information we collect:
    1. To provide our services.
      1. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. uses Personal Information, to provide, personalize, maintain, and improve our services. This includes using data to:
  • create/update accounts;
  • enable localisation of services (such as using location data to identify services in a user’s location), features that involve data sharing (such as ratings and compliments), and accessibility features to facilitate use of our services by those with disabilities
  • process payments
  • personalise users’ accounts. We may, for example, present a user with personalized travel recommendations based on their prior purchases or age. Please see the section of this notice titled “Choice and transparency” to learn how to object to this use of Personal Information.
  • perform necessary operations to maintain our services, including to troubleshoot software bugs and operational problems; to conduct data analysis, testing, and research; and to monitor and analyse usage and activity trends.
  1. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. performs the above activities, including the collection and use of location data for purposes of these activities, on the grounds that they are necessary to fulfil our obligations to users under our Terms of Use or other agreements with users.
  • Safety and security. 
    1. We use Personal Information to help maintain the safety, security, and integrity of our services and users. This includes:
  • verifying Contributors’ identity, including through reviews of background checks, where permitted by law, to help prevent use of our services by unsafe Contributors;
  • using device, location, user profile, usage, and other data to prevent, detect, and combat fraud. This includes identifying fraudulent accounts or uses of our services, preventing use of our services by unauthorized users, verifying user identities in connection with certain payment methods, and preventing and combating unauthorized access to users’ accounts;
  • using user ratings, reported incidents, and other feedback to encourage compliance with our Community Guidelines and as grounds for deactivating users with low ratings or who otherwise violated such guidelines; and
  • using ratings, usage and other data to prevent matching of riders and drivers for whom there is higher risk of conflict (for instance, because one user previously gave the other a one-star rating).
  1. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. performs the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary to fulfil our obligations to users under our Terms of Use or other agreements with users, and/or for purposes of the legitimate safety and security interests of LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. or other parties, including users and members of the general public.
    1. Customer support.
      1. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. uses the information we collect to provide customer support, including to investigate and address user concerns and to monitor and improve our customer support responses and processes.
      2. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. performs the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary to fulfil our obligations to users under our Terms of Use or other agreements with users.
    2. Research and development. 
      1. We may use Personal Information for testing, research, analysis, product development, and machine learning to improve the user experience. This helps us make our services more convenient and easy-to-use, enhance the safety and security of our services, and develop new services and features.
      2. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. performs the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary to fulfil our obligations to users under our Terms of Use or other agreements with users in improving our existing services and features, or for purposes of LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s legitimate interests developing new services and features.
  • Enabling communications between users. 
      1. For example, a customer may message another user or a Contributor to confirm an aspect of a Travel Recommendation, Travel Guide, Accommodation Recommendation, Tour Recommendation or Event Recommendation.
      2. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. performs the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary to fulfil our obligations to users under our Terms of Use or other agreements with users.
    1. Marketing 
      1. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. may use Personal Information to market our services to our users. This includes sending users communications about LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. services, features, promotions, studies, surveys, news, updates, and events. We may do so through various methods, including email, text messages, push notifications, in application communications and ads, and ads on third party platforms.
      2. We may also inform users about products and services offered by LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. partners. For example, we may provide recommendations, promotions, or ads for LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. partners based on users’ past Travel Guide purchases. Although we inform users about products and services offered by LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. partners, we do not sell users’ Personal Information to, or share it with, such partners or others for purposes of their own direct marketing or advertising, except with users’ consent.
      3. We may use the data we collect, including in combination with advertising partners’ data, to personalise and improve the marketing communications (including ads) that we send on and off LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s Apps and websites, including based on user location, use of LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s services, and user preferences and settings. For example, we share user data (such as hashed email address, usage information, and device or user identifiers) with Facebook and TikTok to personalise and improve our ads for LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s services.
      4. For information about how to opt out of certain marketing communications (including ads) from LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. and its advertising partners, please see the section titled “Marketing choices.”
      5. We may also send users communications regarding notice processes that relate to our services. For example, pending legislation relating to LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s services in those users’ areas.
      6. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. performs the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary for purposes of LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s legitimate interests in informing users about LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. services and features or those offered by LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. partners, or on the basis of user consent.

    2. Non-marketing communications 
      1. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. may use Personal Information to generate and provide users with receipts; inform them of changes to our terms, services, or policies; or send other communications that aren’t for the purpose of marketing the services or products of LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. or its partners.
      2. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. performs the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary to fulfil our obligations to users under our Terms of Use or other agreements with users, or for purposes of LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s and it’s users legitimate interests in informing users about events that may have an impact on how they can use LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. services.
  • Legal proceedings and requirements. 
  1. We may use Personal Information to investigate or address claims or disputes relating to use of LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s services, to satisfy requirements under applicable laws, regulations, or agreements, or pursuant to legal process or governmental request, including from law enforcement.
  2. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. performs the above activities on the grounds that they are necessary for purposes of LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s legitimate interests in investigating and responding to claims and disputes relating to use of LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s services and features, and/or necessary for compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  1. Should the specific purpose for which your Personal Information is collected differ to that specified in paragraph 7.2, such purpose will be communicated to You when the information is requested.
  2. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. will only Process Personal Information for a purpose consistent with the purpose for which it is collected, and to which You have consented. 
  3. The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, permits LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. to use personal information collected to compile profiles for statistical purposes. No information contained in the profiles or statistics will be able to be linked to any specific user.
  • Cookies and third-party technologies
    1. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. and its partners use cookies and other identification technologies on our Apps, websites, emails, and online ads for purposes described in this Notice, and LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s Cookie Notice [LINK]
    2. Cookies are small text files that are stored on browsers or devices by websites, apps, online media, and advertisements. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. uses cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as:
  • authenticating users;
  • remembering user preferences and settings;
  • determining the popularity of content;
  • delivering and measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns; and
  • analysing site traffic and trends, and generally understanding the online behaviors and interests of people who interact with our services.

We may also allow others to provide audience measurement and analytics services for us, to serve advertisements on our behalf across the Internet, and to track and report on the performance of those advertisements. These entities may use cookies, web beacons, SDKs, and other technologies to identify the devices used by visitors to our websites, as well as when they visit other online sites and services.

  • Sharing of Your personal information

Some of LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s services and features require that we share Personal Information with other users or at a user’s request. We may also share such data with our partners, for legal reasons or in connection with claims or disputes. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. may share Personal Information:

  • With other users

This includes sharing:

  1. customers’ first name with Contributors. We may also share ratings and feedback, or other information to the extent required by law, with the Contributors.
  2. We also provide customers and delivery recipients with receipts containing information such as a breakdown of amounts charged, Contributors first name and Travel Guide information. We also include other information on those receipts if required by law.
  3. for those who participate in LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s referral program, we share certain Personal Information of referred users to the extent relevant to determining the referral bonus.
  • At the user’s request

This includes sharing data with:

  1. Other people at the user’s request. For example, we share a user’s with a friend when requested by that user.
  2. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. business partners. For example, if a user requests a service through a partnership or promotional offering made by a third party, LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. may share certain data with those third parties. This may include, for example, other services, platforms, Apps, or websites that integrate with our APIs; vehicle suppliers or services; those with an API or service with which we integrate; or restaurants, merchants or other LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. business partners and their users in connection with promotions, contests, or specialized services.
  3. Emergency services: We offer features that enable users to share their data with police, fire, and ambulance services in the event of an emergency or after certain incidents. For more information, please see the sections below titled “Choice and Transparency” and “Emergency Data Sharing”.

Questions or comments from users submitted through public forums such as LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. blogs and LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. social media pages may be viewable by the public, including any Personal Information included in the questions or comments submitted by a user.

We share Personal Information with our subsidiaries and affiliates to help us provide our services or conduct Processing on our behalf.

  • With LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. service providers and business partners

LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. provides Personal Information to vendors, consultants, marketing partners, research firms, and other service providers or business partners. These include:

  • payment processors and facilitators;
  • background check and identity verification providers;
  • cloud storage providers;
  • Google, in connection with the use of Google Maps in LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s apps (see Google’s privacy policy for information on their collection and use of data);
  • social media companies, including Facebook and TikTok, in connection with LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s use of their tools in LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s Apps and website (see Facebook’s and TikTok’s privacy policies for information on their collection and use of data);
  • Marketing partners and marketing platform providers, including social media advertising services, advertising networks, third-party data providers, and other service providers to reach or better understand our users and measure advertising effectiveness;
  • research partners, including those performing surveys or research projects in partnership with LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. or on LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s behalf;
  • vendors that assist LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. to enhance the safety and security of its Apps;
  • consultants, lawyers, accountants, and other professional service providers;
  • insurance and financing partners;
  • For legal reasons or in the event of a dispute
    1. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. may share users’ Personal Information if we believe it’s required by applicable law, regulation, operating license or agreement, legal process or governmental request or where the disclosure is otherwise appropriate due to safety or similar concerns.
    2. This includes sharing Personal Information with law enforcement officials, public health officials, other government authorities, airports (if required by the airport authorities as a condition of operating on airport property), or other third parties as necessary to enforce our Terms of Service, user agreements, or other policies; to protect LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s rights or property or the rights, safety, or property of others; or in the event of a claim or dispute relating to the use of our services. In the event of a dispute relating to use of another person’s credit card, we may be required by law to share your Personal Information, including purchase order information, with the owner of that credit card.
    3. This also includes sharing Personal Information with others in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, consolidation or restructuring, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by or into another company.

LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. may share a user’s Personal Information other than as described in this Notice if we notify the user and they consent to the sharing.

  • Retention and deletion of Your Personal Information 
      1. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. will not retain Your Personal Information longer than is necessary to achieve the purpose for which the information was initially collected, or subsequently Processed unless we are required to do so by law.
      2. If you request, LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. will delete or anonymise your Personal Information so that it no longer identifies You, unless we are legally allowed or required to maintain certain Personal Information, including situations such as the following:
        1. where LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. is required to retain the Personal Information for our legal, tax, audit, and accounting obligations, LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. will retain the necessary Personal Information for the period required by applicable law; and/or,
        2. where necessary for LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s legitimate business interests such as fraud prevention or to maintain the legitimacy of the services offered by of LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd..
  • Choice and transparency 
    1. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. enables users to access and/or control data that LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. collects, including through: 
  • privacy settings
  • device permissions
  • in-app ratings pages
  • marketing choices 
    1. LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. also enables users to request access to or copies of their data, changes or updates to their accounts, or deletion of their accounts, or that LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. restricts its processing of user Personal Information.
  • Privacy settings

The Settings  menu in the LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. application allows riders and delivery recipients to set or update their preferences regarding location data collection and sharing, emergency data sharing, and notifications.

  • Location data collection

customers can enable/disable LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. to collect location data from their mobile devices through their device settings, which can be accessed via the Settings menu.

  • Share Live Location (customers)

Customers can enable/disable LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. to share their real-time location data from their mobile devices with other users through their device settings, which can be accessed via the Settings menu.

  • Emergency Data Sharing 

Riders may enable LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. to share real-time location data from their mobile devices with emergency police, fire, and ambulance services. Such data may include approximate location at the time the emergency call was placed; the customer’s name and phone number. Customers may enable/disable this feature via the Settings menu.

LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. provides users with updates related to activity on their account. Customers may enable/disable this feature via the Settings menu,.

  • Notifications: discounts, news, new connections, new content and booking/reservation information

Users may enable LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. to send push notifications about discounts and news from LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.. Push notifications may be enabled or disabled through the Settings menu.

  • Device permissions

Most mobile device platforms (iOS, Android, etc.) have defined certain types of device data that Apps cannot access without the device owner’s permission, and these platforms have different methods for how that permission can be obtained. Please check the available settings on your device or check with your provider.

  • In-app ratings pages

After every Travel Guide is purchased, customers are able to rate the Travel Guide from 1 to 5. An average of those ratings is associated with a Contributor’s account and is displayed to other users for whom they provide services. 

  • Marketing choices

Users may opt out of certain marketing communications (including ads) and use of their data for marketing in the following ways:

  1. Ad settings:

These settings enable users to choose whether their data is shared with LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s advertising partners to deliver personalised ads, and/or to measure the effectiveness of such ads.

  • Marketing emails and messages: 

To opt out of receiving marketing emails from LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd., or for instructions on how to set your preferences regarding whether to receive marketing SMS or push notifications from LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd., contact HR@localknowledge.travel. Users may also opt out of receiving emails and other messages from LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages. We may still send users who have opted out non-promotional communications, such as receipts for purchases or information about their account.

  • User Personal Information requests 

LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. provides users with a variety of ways to learn about, control, and submit questions and comments about LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s handling of their Personal Information.

Changing or updating data: Users have the right to edit the name, phone number, email address, payment method, and photo associated with their account through the Settings menu in LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s Apps or website. Users may also request to update or correct their data from hello@localknowledge.travel  
  4. Deleting data: Users have the right to request deletion of their account at any time through the Settings menus in the LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd. application, or through LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s website.
  5. Objections, restrictions, and complaints: Users have the right to request that we stop using all or some of their Personal Information, or that we limit our use of their data. This includes objecting to our use of Personal Information that is based on LKTA 2020 (Pty) Ltd.’s legitimate interests.
