LEO'S WINE BAR
A wine bar inside a bagel shop.
At Leo’s you can enjoy a glass of nature’s finest nectar on their street side terrace, or inside the narrow bar area (if you’re lucky). Their focus is on natural, limited-edition, “new wave” wines, of which they have around 20 available every evening.
THE DRINKERY
Art and old fashioned cocktails.
Tucked away on Heritage Square, this art gallery doubles as a super cool little speakeasy. Browse the art on display before ordering your drink of choice, and kicking back on retro sofas, between old books and antique lamps. A game or two of chess is not uncommon.

THE GIN BAR
A secret hidden behind a chocolate cafe.
Accessed only through Honest Chocolate Cafe, and nestled in a romantic Mediterranean style courtyard, this secret gin sanctuary is one of the most popular bars in the city. The heritage building was once a mortuary, hence the playful cocktail menu of ‘medicinal remedies’.
With over 100 gins on their menu (of which over 80 are made in South Africa) a stop at ‘The Secret Gin Bar’ is an absolute must.
CULTURE WINE BAR
This candle lit, open plan loft offers a curated selection of fine wines from the country’s most respected names, cult classics, hidden gems, natural wines, and special imports from across the globe.
Grab a couch, a booth or a table and get a little fancy.

BROKE KLUBHOUSE
Everything you’re looking for on a night out.
The new kid on the block and already a night out favorite. Their beautifully curated store turns into a party at night with an amazing local line up of dj’s and a huuuuge community vibe. Dress to impress.
BABBI
A hidden courtyard tucked around a corner. Follow the smooth vinyl sounds to find your way. With local beers, exceptional wine, delicious bar snacks and cards for a game or two – Babbi is fast becoming a local favorite. Come early to get a spot outside as the venue is very intimate, but so worth it!

APERITIF
A stunningly decorated aperitivo bar, Aperitif exudes charm. With a carefully curated wine list from small scale, local producers and a cocktail menu that includes classic aperitivo spritzers and cocktails such as the Bellini, Negroni, Martini and a small variety of sours. They also offer great non-alcoholic options and a small bar snack menu.
BOMA ON BREE
A lively desert style restaurant and cocktail bar. Choose a seat at the bar, the comfortable indoor booths, or on their street side terrace. A taste of traditional meals to accompany your drinks include the famous braaibroodjie-jaffle, Oom Eddie’s grass fed Karoo Skaap Ribs and our curry kissed Cape Malay Lamb Sosatie. Venture downstairs to their Tiki Tomb bar after your meal.

OPENWINE
Juuuuust off Bree street, Open Wine is a quant little wine bar on Wale Street. They offer a wide selection of wines for tasting and pairings, regular events that include kitchen takeovers, house nights and karaoke, and an intimate street side deck for seating.
THE HOUSE OF MACHINES
A legend in the Cape Town bar scene. The vibe is local craft beers and local beef burgers, with regular live music and band nights. Sit inside at the bar or hang around the outside seating. Every local knows the decal on their window – good advice to follow!
